My Experience & My Passion

I'm Emma a women's Panic and Anxiety specialist with a passion and purpose is to help women fully understand and compassionately meet their own needs so that they can change their life and the lives of their family, friends and connections.

My vision is to create a world in which women are no longer expected to meet the needs of others before themselves. I vision a world in which women are empowered to look after themselves, to feel good about themselves and show up and live in a way that is accepting and authentic of their unique gifts (sensitivity, femininity, empathy).

I have over 17 years of experience supporting people in different life stages and situations. I am a qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England. I have undertaken accredited therapeutic training in approaches such as; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Dyadic Development Psychotherapy (DDP), Trauma Informed Practice, Hypnotherapy and Coaching.

I am a curious human being and I believe that it is our experiences that shape us - I come from the stance of what has happened to and how can I support you in your human experiences, rather than what is wrong with you. My curiosity helps people to understand their own story and the experiences that shape their beliefs and feelings and this ultimately offers the people I work with a path to change and get sustained life long relief from the difficulties they were experiencing.

I passionate about offering practical information and strategies which help people take those next steps. This is something that people often feel is missing in their previous support and often why they seek support with me. This is the so what, now what part of my support - giving you simple, effective practical strategies that you can implement to change your reality.

My Story

I just received the promotion that I had been eagerly awaiting - I should have been feeling on top of the world, but I was struggling to function.

My physical and emotional health was deteriorating.

I had PTSD from a car accident, anxiety, pain, fatigue, poor sleep, I was struggling to focus, think clearly or remember the simplest of things.

I felt the weight of responsibility of my job, I didn't want to let my colleagues or clients down and I also wished to avoid the shame of being off sick.

I used every ounce of energy I had to do my job. To others I looked like my usual self but it left me unable to function. Every evening I had to recover and surrender myself to a dark room. I couldn't hold a conversation, cook myself dinner, clean the house, exercise, socialise or watch TV. My life was a fraction of what It used to be. I remember a moment where I had a delivery and there was a problem bringing it into the house and I completely broke down - overwhelmed and panicked. I really didn't know how I got to this place after always having felt so resilient. I berated myself for not being stronger and for not being able to cope.

I knew I and my situation needed to change. I decided I had to…

  • Be responsible for my own wellness

  • Take action even tough it was hard

  • Do something new to get a different result

What helped me was taking a holistic approach to my wellness.

To heal my past and present and to build a network of support. Seeking help was my lifeline;  hypnotherapy, therapy, energy management and nervous system regulation.

I have gone from emotionally and physically broken to:

  • Running my own successful business - thriving at work, working in a way that works for me, aligns with my values and offers me pure joy and freedom.

  • Smashing the glass ceilings of what I believed was possible for myself, doing things I never thought I would, healing from past experiences that were holding me back.

  • Trusting myself, igniting my intuition: feeling resilient, emotionally strong, controlled and free of panic, anxiety attacks, energised, motivated and living in an intentional and present way no longer shackled by pleasing others and being perfect.
