Hi, I'm Emma

I'm a therapist and hypnotherapist specialising in anxiety and burnout for high-achieving women.

I've been working in this field fro over 17 years, supporting clients through their most difficult moments and watching them transform and change.

 

But a few years ago, I became my own client, and I was the woman who couldn't stop. I'd been in a car crash - Head Injury. PTSD. My body was trying to recover from trauma. And what did I do? I pushed forward for promotion. I kept working. I told myself I was fine.

But I wasn't fine. The head injury led to chronic migraines and cognitive fog. The PTSD symptoms were constant. My body was screaming at me to stop, but I kept going.
 

When I finally got that promotion I'd been pushing for, instead of celebrating, I was barely functioning. Using every ounce of energy just to get through the workday, then collapsing at home.

My GP looked at me and said, "Emma, you need to be signed off work. You're not well enough to continue."
 

I begged her not to.
 

Even though my body was breaking down. Even though I was recovering from trauma. The shame and guilt of "giving up" felt unbearable.

That's when I realised: I wasn't in control. My subconscious was and nervous system was.
 

The patterns I'd learned as a child, the beliefs about having to be perfect, having to prove my worth, having to keep going no matter what, were so deeply wired that even after a car crash, even with a head injury, I still couldn't give myself permission to rest.
